Privacy Policy

Synaxis is a private calendar that a few people you choose can see parts of. Privacy isn't a feature here, it's the default state of everything — so this page is short, and it's specific.
The short version.
- Every plan you write is visible to no one but you until you explicitly share it.
- There is no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
- There is no public feed, no discovery, and no way for a stranger to find you.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app.
Who's responsible
Synaxis is operated by AAl, the data controller for the information described here. Questions, requests, or complaints: contact@synaxistogether.app.
What we collect
Only what the app needs to work. Specifically:
- Your account — email address and password. The password is stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see it.
- Your profile — the display name you choose, and your timezone (so times show correctly and so plain-text dates like "Friday" resolve properly).
- Your plans — title, category, date and time, and optionally a location and notes.
- Your Wants — things you'd like to do: title, optional note and category.
- Who you're with — names you add to a plan or a Want. See the section on other people's names below.
- Your connections — who you're friends with, and who you've shared a specific plan with and at what level.
- Invitations you've answered — whether you accepted or declined a plan someone invited you to.
- A count of your text-parse uses — a timestamp each time you successfully use the plain-text plan input. This is a count only; the text itself is not stored.
We do not collect your contacts, phone number, precise location, photos, advertising identifiers, or any behavioural analytics. The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Other people's names
You can note who you were with, including people who don't use Synaxis. Those names are stored as plain text, they're visible only to you, and they grant that person nothing — no notification is sent, no account is created, and nobody is linked to anything. Adding a name is a private note to yourself. Please only add names you're comfortable recording.
The shareable weekly summary image never contains anyone's name. It shows a count — "saw 6 people" — and the part of the app that builds the image has no access to the names behind that number.
Who your data goes to
Nobody, unless you share it. Within the app, other people see only what you explicitly grant them, per plan, and a plan you mark hidden is invisible to everyone regardless of any sharing you set up earlier.
These service providers process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — hosts the database and handles sign-in. All of the above is stored there.
- Google (Gemini) — when, and only when, you use the plain-text plan input, the sentence you typed is sent to Google's API to be turned into a plan, along with your timezone. We don't store the sentence. If you never use that feature, nothing is ever sent to Google.
- Cloudflare — serves this website. This site itself sets no cookies, loads nothing from anywhere else, and runs no analytics.
- Apple and Google — distribute the app through their stores, under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone's advertising or marketing.
Why we're allowed to hold it
Under UK and EU data protection law, we process your account details and your plans because they are necessary to provide the service you asked for (contractual necessity). We rely on your consent for the optional plain-text parsing feature, which you give by choosing to use it, and you can stop at any time by not using it.
How long we keep it
Your plans and past weeks stay for as long as your account exists — the archive is the point of the product, and it is never wiped or trimmed to push you into paying. When you delete your account, your data is deleted with it.
Deleting everything
In the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your account and the data attached to it — your profile, plans, Wants, notes, the names you'd added, your friend connections and your sharing settings. It cannot be undone.
Deleting your account doesn't delete other people's plans. If a friend invited you to something, their plan is theirs and stays with them; your response to it goes when your account does.
Your rights
If you're in the UK or the EU you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, get a copy of it in a portable form, object to or restrict how it's processed, and withdraw consent where consent is what we rely on. Deletion is built into the app; for anything else, write to contact@synaxistogether.app and we'll respond within one month.
You can also complain to your data protection regulator — in the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), and in Greece the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
Children
Synaxis isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
Access rules are enforced by the database itself, not just by the app — a request for something you're not allowed to see returns nothing, rather than relying on the app to hide it. Your sign-in session is stored encrypted on your device, and traffic to our servers is encrypted in transit.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
